The Bund is a fascinating piece of Jewish history that should be studied more. The quotes included in the book about the excesses of nationalism and importance of cross communal solidarity especially resonate. Yet by simplifying the Bund and its legacies, it ends up worshiping the ashes more than breathing life into an old tradition.
